Love…Such A Silly Game We Play

One dollar goes to the person who knows which movie the above quote comes from!!!  Today’s quote of the day comes from my favorite Tweeter, The Daily Love:

There's no use seeking Love from those who can't give it to you. Go where the Love is.

Wiser words have never been spoken.  I’ve often found that sometimes when we love someone we try to will them to love us back.  We over analyze every conversation, email, text, tweet, Facebook photo hoping to find some semblance of love.  But, after my twenty-six years on this earth I’ve learned (from Maya Angelou and Oprah, natch) that people show you who they are and you must believe them.  Often times, I’ve forgotten this advice and thought “They are probably just confused, of course they love me, just look at how much I love them!”

Alas, those thoughts proved to be futile.  It’s much more productive and fulfilling to love myself than to try and force someone else to do it for me.  Intellectually I know this, but emotionally I need a reminder every now and then.  Luckily for me, this Tweet came at the perfect time.  I LOVE ME!!

In other love news, Caitlin of Healthy Tipping Point has written a book Operation Beautiful, which is in stores TODAY!!  Go pick up a copy and be a part of this wonderful movement.

Excellent quote! It seems so obvious, yet we all have definitely been in the situation before. You love someone, they don't love you back, and it's hard to let go.

Wish I knew the movie, a dollar would be nice!
