Ask A Dude: The Great V-Day Debate

This week’s Ask A Dude questions have to do with all things pink, red, and covered in hearts.   Valentines Day has been a source of contention between the genders for generations.  Yes, we know it’s a “Hallmark Holiday,” but we still want you to acknowledge it.  I have assembled the troops (Rusty, Dude #2, and Third Dude) to bring you several responses to this week’s questions.  As always, please feel free to bring your man into the mix and leave your thoughts in the comments section.

Here is Rusty’s response:

1.  What are your general thoughts on Valentines Day?

I hate Valentines Day. This is another holiday made up by the good ol' people at the Hallmark Corporation. I am a romantic. I like to be spontaneously romantic. There is nothing better than surprising a girl with something special. Valentines Day ruins all of this. There is an overwhelming pressure for men to make February 14th a special day for their girls. Why? Because society tells me I have to? Will she really appreciate making love on rose pedals more because they cost 3 times as much on February 14th? Nope...but as a guy, you gotta do it.

Much more to come…I’ll post responses as I receive them.  Happy almost V-Day, blog friends!
