Gone are the days where people meet during innocent walks in the park. Welcome to digital love. As many of you know the world of online dating can be daunting and frustrating. As the hilarious Lindsay says it’s “people shopping.” You look through hundreds (or if you’re me thousands) of pictures, then short blurbs describing these men. I try to open-minded (try being the operative word), but the following question has been discussed widely among my girlfriends. Let’s see if Rusty can shed some light.
1. I keep noticing that every guys has some variation of the following phrase on their online dating profile: I like to go out but also enjoy cuddling on the couch. What is the purpose of saying that? Isn't is like saying I enjoy sleeping as well as being awake?
I don't quite know how to answer that because I agree that it is a ridiculous thing to say. Maybe it is fluff - just something to say to fill in the paragraph. Maybe these guys are afraid to isolate themselves from someone and therefore they over compensate by making stupid generalizations in an effort to appeal to everyone.
I don't have an answer to this one, but I wouldn't want to go out with someone that writes that. I would interpret that as someone not confident in themselves. Perhaps I am over analyzing, though.
