Bicoastal Fun...

Hi, blog friends.  I have returned from the land of the eternally tan.  I had a great long weekend frolicking along the Pacific ocean with two of my closest friends.  I have been to LA several times, but never left to my own devices (aka no family members) and I must admit, the driving is just killer.  We used a GPS system which definitely took us the longer way (also known as the FREEWAY) so that did not help, but just being confined to a car was a big adjustment.  Luckily we had a pretty sweet ride.  I called her the swank mobile for the better part of the trip.  Just three hot New Yorkers in a Suzuki, you know, the usual.

I mean how cute is she??
We stayed at The Standard in West Hollywood, which was retro chic.  Very funky.  Filled with industry types.  We saw several business meetings taking place next the pool, which was a far cry from the hustle and bustle of NYC.  The view wasn't too shabby either.

I need to give a big thank you to all of our west coast friends who gave us wonderful food recommendations and kept us entertained!

From LA it was down the coast to Laguna Beach/Newport Beach.  I think this picture sums it up quite nicely.  Beautiful views, good food, super slow pace.

So stunning.

It was a great trip, that made me appreciate the convenience of NYC even more.  I missed walking.  I missed hopping on the subway and getting downtown in 10 minutes.  I did enjoy the palm trees, though.  I love a good palm.

Back to reality!!!

Oh and in terms of food.  I didn't track two out of the five days, breaking my own rules, but I got right back on track (literally) yesterday and I don't think I did any major damage.  I did, however, enjoy In'n Out Burger for the first (and most likely last time).  It was worth it.
