Unfortunately, I'm not talking about "True Blood."  I'm talking about a weird shift in my life in the last couple of weeks.  The floodgates have opened.  I have embraced dating here in New York City.  I know there will be some gagging out there after reading this post and that is quite all right.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  But, I have come to believe that things come to you when you're truly ready.  While still pining for an ex or unrequited love, the universe isn't going to put the perfect man in front of you.  You wouldn't be ready for him.  As one of my best friends said to me this afternoon, "when it rains, it pours."  So what I think I'm trying to say is, don't try to force things.  Be kind to yourself.  If you're not there yet, so be it.  Focus your energy elsewhere (I think starting WW and focusing on myself helped a lot) and enjoy the ride.  There is no rush.

Now that I feel happy and healthy, I'm more than happy to awkwardly discuss my obsession with dogs over a drink or two.  You never know, right?
